Updated on March 7: On the same day, Wuhan Zall also signed the online travel service platform, Lvmama.com, as its main sponsor. The travel business will display its logo on the front of shirts of the club players on the pitch for the 2018 season.
On March 3, the China League One (CL1) side, Wuhan Zall Football Club, signed a strategic cooperation deal with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-conditioners (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (MHIAS). This deal will see the air conditioner manufacturer become the top sponsor of the Wuhan-based club for the 2018 season.
Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is not new to football marketing, as the company was once owner of Japan’s J1 League club, the Urawa Red Diamonds.
In 2008, the MHIAS sponsored Jiangsu Sainty FC (now known as Jiangsu Suning FC) claiming the title of the CL1. In 2015, the company became the top sponsor of Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC, helping them reach the finals of the Chinese Football Association Cup. In 2017, the air conditioner business also supported Dalian Yifang FC to promote to the Chinese Super League, after they took the title in the CL1.
As Li Tie, the head coach of Wuhan Zall, said, as the deal was signed just ahead of the 2018 CL1, the club, under the support of the MHIAS, will present their fans in an unforgettable season.
The MHIAS General Manager Luo Xiaomin commented, saying they hope they can use the cooperation to promote the development of Chinese professional football as well as bring a healthy lifestyle for Chinese customers.
