Future of Sport: A Global Sports Week x Viva Technology Collaboration, Will Open in June 14

At a press conference held on Jan 11 by the Municipal Government of Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, the local CBA club Jiangsu Tongxi officially announced its new name, Nanjing Tongxi. In fact, the team has been using this new name since December 25, 2017, as the team relocated to Nanjing from Changzhou, in September, 2017.
Nanjing Tongxi Basketball Club is one of the CBA clubs listed on the New Third Board. The club’s owner Nanjing Tongxi Group plan to develop an integrated sports business based on the club.
According to Chen Guangchuan, President of Tongxi Group, the planned sports business will include three parts – promoting the home games of Nanjing Tongxi, operating basketball training camps and other sports events apart from basketball, as well as supporting the sports industry via constructing a basketball park and operating sports facilities.
Chen also disclosed some details about the club’s future plan to develop basketball training. In the future, Nanjing Tongxi will set up a basketball training camp for teenagers, in order to build a reserve of basketball talent.
