The sports equipment shopping channel of the Chinese online retailing giant JD.com, 京东体育 (literally translated as Jingdong Sports) has launched a marketing campaign for the 2018 Wuxi Marathon, alongside the Japanese running footwear manufacturer, Asics.
Because of its beautiful scenery along its route, the Wuxi marathon is highly appreciated by Chinese runners. However, as more and more runners are wanting to take part in the race, entry to the Wuxi marathon is becoming increasingly difficult for those runners to get. As one of the official sponsors of the 2018 Wuxi Marathon, Jingdong Sports has aligned itself with Asics to carry out a marketing campaign for runners who want to take part in 2018 Wuxi Marathon.
Asics has designed a limited edition of its “Gel-Nimbus 20” footwear for 2018 Wuxi Marathon. In the marketing campaign, those runners who purchase a pair of Gel Nimbus 20 on the Jingdong Sports website will also receive entry to the marathon.
Alongside this campaign with Asics, Jingdong Sports has also launched service packages for runners including entry to the 2018 Wuxi Marathon and access to a local Wuxi accommodation booking service. Runners who purchase this package can take a free shuttle bus to and from the route, offered by Jingdong Sports.
Additionally, another package including Asics limited edition footwear and accommodation services have been prepared for runners who have already received entry to the 2018 Wuxi Marathon.
