December 6: Alisports has signed a strategic partnership with the Jiaozhou City government of Shandong Province.
Under the terms of their deal, the Asia-Pacific final of the 2017 World Electronic Sports Games (WESG) will be held in the county-level city of Qingdao. The local government will set up special eSports venues for top players from around the Asia-Pacific region.
At the same time, the two sides also have plans to develop cooperation opportunities in fields of eSports events, training projects and industrial parks.
As Gao Yan, deputy mayor of Jiaozhou, remarked, “This marks a recognition of Jiaozhou’s economical, social and cultural development for Alisports to decide to hold the world-renowned event in Jiaozhou. This partnership is very significant for Jiaozhou to improve its eSports business ecosystem as well as help the city develop into an advanced sports leisure city.”
