November 15, Shanghai: The Chinese Basketball Association has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Students Sports Association (SSA) under the Chinese Ministry of Education.
The MOU was signed by the CBA Secretary-General Bai Xilin and Xue Yanqing, Secretary-General of the SSA Joint Secretariat, in front of the CBA Chairman Yao Ming and the Vice Minister of Education, Tian Xuejun.
Under their terms of the partnership, the CBA will work together with the Federation of University Sports of China (FUSC) and the China School Sports Federation (CSSF), expanding basketball talent fostering channels and creating youth training platforms for Chinese young players.
The partnership aims to promote the overall development of basketball in the world’s most populous country.
Earlier this month, the FUSC and CSSF announced a 10-year strategic partnership with Alisports, the sports arm of the Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba. The three parties are expected to boost sports youth training in China.
