August 3: China’s General Administration of Sports (CGAS) has signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with Hainan government to promote the development of sports industry in Hainan province.
The agreement was signed in front of Gou Zhongwen, director of CGAS and Hainan acting governor, Shen Xiaoming.
Under this agreement, the pair will work closely to accelerate China’s island province’s development through mass participation events, competitive sports, sports tourism, sports towns and sports lottery.
At the same time, the local government will give support to the national sports governing body in the construction of its southern training base and national teams, which include golf, beach volleyball and surfing.
At the signing ceremony in Haikou, CGAS Press and Publicity Department also struck a deal with Hainan Broadcasting Group.
As Gou Zhongwen said, this agreement, guided by President Xi Jinping’s instructions for Hainan’s development, will speed up the growth of the local sports market as well as the national sports business.
