July 22: The FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen, whose establishment was announced in March, was officially launched by FC Bayern Munich and Shenzhen Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. during this summer's 2017 Audi Summer Tour.
The FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen is an international full-time football school managed by FC Bayern. The school will be located in Longgang District, Shenzhen with 16 football pitches (6 full-size pitches and 10 five-a-side pitches), a high-tech training center, working space for doctors and coaches, classrooms, halls and a boarding house. If is intended in the future that FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen will create a youth coaching system combining both technical training and cultural education to develop elite junior players. This school will also provide Shenzhen’s football coaches and PE teachers with training courses adopting Bayern’s youth training resources while also organizing matches and training courses for Bayern in Shenzhen.
The FC Bayern Football School Shenzhen was recently launched by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the People’s Government of Shenzhen and will be delivered by Shenzhen Investment Holdings. A joint venture company established by Shenzhen Investment Holdings and China Sports Futurity Investment, Zhongde Sports Investment (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. will takes responsibility for the project’s construction and operation.
“What we saw proves to us that football in China, and in particular in Shenzhen, is on the right path,” said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. He also promised Zhongde Sports director Peng Haibin and deputy mayor Hu: “Our coaches will have a continuous exchange of ideas with them. They will visit here and there are plans for their coaches and players to regularly visit Munich. I am sure that we can help to improve the quality of football in China.”
