Tencent Sports and Amaury Sport Organisation, organisers of Le Tour de France, have jointly announced the signing of an exclusive digital partnership agreement. This agreement will see Tencent have the exclusive rights to stream all stages of the 2017 Tour on multiple platforms from July 1 to 23. By capturing the top men's cycling race’s media rights, Tencent Sports has taken its first step in the sport of cycling.
In the streaming of this years edition of Le Tour, the first Chinese cyclist to compete in this blue ribbon event, Ji Cheng has been invited to Tencent Sports’ studio as the leading commentator. Other professional commentators such as Zou Cheng, Xiao Shen and Li Tao, plus cyclist Xing Yandong, will also join the live panel, delivering incisive analysis and comments to the Chinese cycling audience.
In the delivery of the overall presentation of Le Tour de France 2017, Tencent Sports will take full advantage of their strong Internet platforms: Tencent Sports’ website, Tencent.com, Tencent Videos, Tencent Daily Express and Tencent Live, as well as their social media platforms, QQ and Wechat. The content to be delivered will include live streaming, videos on demand, highlights package and Tencent original programs and feature stories.
