Tencent Sports announced earlier today on their website that the online sports channel had secured the rights to live broadcast Bundesliga from 2015/2016 to 2017/2018.
Under the deal, the site is about to live screen 204 matches (6 each round) of the German top tier football league per season via its various channels including the website, PC and mobile applications.
In addition, the online broadcaster will be able to present highlights of all matches and 10 documentary programs of Bundesliga each season.
As reported, Bundesliga will provide television signals of all 9 matches every round to Chinese broadcasters including CCTV 5 alongside some local TV channels and online sports streamers.
And CCTV 5, the dominating sports television channel, will exclusively live broadcast three games each round while the rest 6 games will be shared among local sports television channels and online streamers.
But until now Tencent Sports is the only online sports brand that has announced a Bundesliga deal.
