As reported by Beijing Business Today (BBT) on June 19, former LeSports COO Yu Hang has joined DDMC as senior assistant to the Chairman. When BBT’s journalists inquired with DDMC’s staff to confirm this fact, DDMC did not respond. Instead, they revealed that the company Yu Hang had joined was a wholly-owned subsidiary of DDMC Group, which still needs to be confirmed.
According to BBT, Yu Hang joined the marketing department of the Asian Football Association in 2004. In 2006, Yu became the Partnership Director with Sino Sports, responsible for overseas business resources and media rights. With Yu’s previous work experience and business acumen, Yu will take the charge of promoting DDMC’s internationalization process specifically developing its international sports resources.
Founded in 1992 and renamed in 2016, DDMC is a leading sports & entertainment company based in Wuhan, China. In 2016, DDMC completed the acquisition of the sports marketing company Desports, marking the first step in the sports industry.
Currently, DDMC’s sports ventures include sports marketing, media rights operations, sports events, sports brokerage, and venue operations. The sports subsidiaries belonging to DDMC includes Desports, MBS, Hanwei Sports and Haohaidong Sports. Additionally, DDMC is currently getting closer to acquiring Supersports, the English Premier League’s operator in China mainland while also establishing a joint venture company with Suning Sports in the near future.
