SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm
23 May 2024 14:34
As reported by iFeng and Guancha.com, an online news and comments website in China, Lionel Messi arrived in Beijing on May 31 for a series of sponsorship activities organised by his new sponsor Huawei. Alongside press conferences, Messi will also take part in soccer-related activities with Chinese students.
Additionally, Messi will attend a groundbreaking foundation laying ceremony and dinner for his new Messi Soccer Experience Pavillion in Nanjing.
Messi's arrival in China was announced on his Weibo content post on May 28, following FC Barcelona's win in the Copa del Rey. So far, this Weibo content has been forwarded 3000 times, and has attracted nearly 40,000 followers to Messi’s Weibo account.
Previously as a member of the Argentina Olympic soccer team who won gold at Beijing 2008 plus visits to Beijing together with FC Barcelona, Messi might not feel unfamiliar with Beijing. However, this is his first time coming here as an individual.
