A turning point for global sport: IBA President Umar Kremlev and Donald Trump Jr join forces

HNA Group have announced a five-year commitment to the Open de France golf event, as its title sponsor starting from 2017. According to a report by ftchinese.com, the sponsorship is valued at US$35 million.
It is said to be HNA Group’s first title sponsorship of a major global professional golf event, and also the first time a global organization headquartered in China has sponsored a European golf tour event outside the country.
The HNA Open de France will be the eight stop on the European Tour’s recently announced flagship tour, the Rolex Series, and will take place from June 29th to July 2nd at the Le Golf National, with a prize fund of US$ 7M.
Previously, the HNA Group hosted the HNA Invitational 2016 in Ireland and In October of last year, bought 8 golf courses in US’s Washington State for US$137.5M.
HNA have indicated that it will continue to pursue global related sports deals.
