Since midnight on Jan 5th, the online purchase of Beijing Guoan’s season tickets for the 2017 Season has been closed. According to online data, the online demand for Guoan’s season tickets this year isn’t as great as that in previous seasons. Thus, the Beijing club don’t need to select purchasers by lottery number this time.
On the same day, Guangzhou Evergrande announced plans to raises its ticket prices for the new season as well as prices for single games, with the highest-priced season ticket to be sold at 3,000 RMB. It is expected that tickets for the new season will go on sale around Jan 10th.
Over the past few seasons, the demand for Guoan’s season tickets was higher than expected. For this reason, they have selected purchasers by conducting a draw every season since 2010. However, demand for Guoan’s season tickets was less than expected this year.
In past seasons, Guangzhou Evergrande usually raised the price for season tickets, but didn’t in 2015 and 2016. Recently, the Guangzhou club convened a fans meeting about prices for 2017 home game tickets. At the hearing, it was decided to raise the price of 2017 season tickets by 10% - 20%. In addition, the club will raise prices for a single game ticket. According to Evergrande, the highest price for a season ticket will now be 3,000 RMB, which will also be the highest in the Chinese Super League.
