Evergrande Football School has recently introduced a football program to recruit outstanding and promising football talents aged 9 to 18 years old from across China.
The free scholarship-based program is designed to cover 10 years of training and study and provides top-class training and education for qualified football talents.
For this program, there are three stages with the first stage catering for those players aged 9-12, the second for 12-15 and the third for 15-18 years old. During the first two stages, players receive training at the Evergrande Football School campus. During the last stage, qualified players will receive three-years training at the Evergrande Football School’s spanish campus.
All fees for qualified talents including education, training, food, clothes, accommodation and transportation to competitions, are exempt. Furthermore, a total of 10 scholarships will be given to those players who perform well in training, studying and in football tournaments. The gross amount of each annual scholarship will be close to CNY10m.
With these generous scholarships and exemption of fees, the estimated investment the school will make for each qualified player in this program per year will be above CNY500,000.
Currently, the school has opened registration for this program across China until August 25. Recruiting stations have been set up in many provinces and are responsible for the first round of selections based on physical conditions and football capabilities. The second round of selections will take place at the Evergrande Football School’s campus in Guangdong Province.
The school also has described its clear future paths for talents in this program. The first is to play professional football for Chinese clubs such as Guangzhou Evergrande FC or overseas clubs. The second, is to be enrolled in Chinese colleges and universities as scholarship sports students after receiving their national athlete certificates. The final path, is to apply for preparatory courses in international universities while receiving further training in Spain.
