According to the All-China Sports Federation Website, the Chinese Super League (CSL) outfit Shandong Luneng has sent its U21 team to Argentina for a 1-month training program.
Reportedly, all key members of the team, apart from those who are playing in the current 2018 CSL have joined this training camp, including several coaches. During the camp, the Argentine Football Association will provide a set of services to the team, such as accommodation, language learning, medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Meanwhile the Luneng U21 team will play friendly games against youth football teams from Argentina which will be played at training bases of the Argentina National Football Team.
This overseas training camp is widely seen as part of the football cooperation between China and Argentina. At a conference hosted by the Chinese and Argentine governments in Buenos Aires, Argentine President Mauricio Macri met with Gou Zhongwen, Director of China's General Administration of Sport and President of the Chinese Olympic Committee.
At the meeting, President Macri welcomed Director Gou and stated that Argentina would be willing to deepen its cooperation on football by launching and carrying out some football-related schemes, based on agreements reached with the Chinese President Xi Jinping in May 2017. This football partnership will become an important aspect of the overall partnership between Argentina and China.
