China Sports Media (CSM), better known as Ti’ao Dongli, has been announced as a nominee for the 2nd annual TV Sports Awards (TVSA) 2016.
According to a report by Sportspromedia, “the awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the sports media industry across eight categories.” The event will be held on Monday, 24th October at the Fairmont Monte-Carlo, Monaco. CSM will be able to compete for Best TV Rights Deal and Best Football Rights Deal.
In October 2015, CSM acquired the five-year production and global broadcasting rights to the Chinese Super League (CSL) for a whopping RMB8bn fee. Then last February, CSM resold a 2-year exclusive streaming rights package to LeSports for RMB2.7bn. This has become a landmark event for the Chinese soccer industry, which has attracted international attention.
At the same time, Infront Sports & Media AG, now owned by China’s Wanda Sports, has been nominated for Agency of the Year.
