A women’s half-marathon was held in Xiamen City, southeast China’s Fujian
Province on November 1. This is the first time that the Chinese mainland has
held such an event, and over 3,000 women runners participated in the
competition.
Xie Qianhe finally won the gold medal with a time of 1:20:46. Sun Weiwei won the silver medal with a time of 1:23:07 and Zhang Zhixuan won the bronze medal with a time of 1:23:35.
The half-marathon was sponsored by XTEP Company. The competition was composed of three parts, a half-marathon, a mini-marathon and a pink-ribbon run. At the competition site, the organizer assigned many men to serve the participants. The organizer also held a rock festival on site. All the participants wore running gear provided by XTEP Company and finished the competition with cheers from men.
In addition, the organizer allocated a photo zone for participants to take pictures and a catering zone for participants to enjoy fruits.
The participants told reporters that the competition offered them an interesting and unforgettable experience.
