Bundesliga side Schalke 04 FC are set to play two exhibition games against Chinese Super League duo Guangzhou Evergrande and Guangzhou R&F next month, organizers announced at a press conference yesterday.
As revealed, the German club will bring along a list of first-team stars, including Klaas Jan Huntelaar, Franco Di Santo, Choupo Moting and Atsuto Uchida. In addition to the two friendly matches, Schalke 04 stars will also appear at a Guangzhou-based school to help promote campus football there. As part of the tour, the club will also hold a fans meeting at Guangdong Provincial People's Stadium on 3rd July.
"Schalke 04 are a very strong side with many international players. It will be a very good opportunity for us to promote soccer in Guangzhou and in China," said Guangzhou R&F coach Dragan Stojkovic.
Schalke 04 FC are set to play Guangzhou R&F on 5th July, and then play Guangzhou Evergrande on 7th July.
