Sina Sports and Sina Auto, two subsidiaries of leading Chinese web portal Sina.com, yesterday (11th June) announced that they have become the official strategic digital media partners for the China GT Championship,
Under the agreement, both Sina Sports and Sina Auto will collaborate on comprehensive coverage of the China GT Championship. This will include highlights on both channels and featured posts and promotion on Sina Weibo, according to the Sina announcement.
Sina vice president and general manager of Sina Sports Arthur Wei had this to say about the partnership: "For almost twenty years, Sina has been a digital media powerhouse. This partnership is a perfect example of how Sina Sports as a member of the Sina family can utilize and partner with other web channels in our platform to attract new fans and web users. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase a home-grown racing competition like the China GT, which is making a significant contribution to building both a stronger sports and automobile culture in China."
"Now entering its fourth year, the China GT is excited to have been able to achieve such a broad partnership with Sina Sports and Sina Auto," said Mr. Jia Bing, Marketing and Media Director of China GT.
The China GT Championship, launched in 2013, is one of China and Asia's best established racing events which are authorized by the State Sports General Administration and the Federation of Automobile and Motorcycle Sports of China (CAMF) the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA).
The 2016 China GT Championship, which kicked off yesterday at Beijing Goldenport Circuit, will continue from July 29-31 at the Shanghai F1 Circuit, followed by stages at the Chengdu International Circuit from September 2 -4 and concludes at the Zhuhai International Circuit from October 28–30.
