YONEX, a Tokyo-based sports equipment provider, has struck a sponsorship deal with the badminton team of Guangdong Experimental High School with the signing ceremony being held on September 2nd, according to Guangzhou Daily.
The deal shows YONEX’s strategy in strengthening their presences in youth badminton and objective in promote the sport among youngsters.
The length and financial terms, however, was not disclosed.
As part of marketing strategies in China, YONEX held a partner meeting earlier last month and announced their plans to partner with more top badminton teams and to be more dedicated in promoting badminton among youth players.
The Japanese sports brand, renowned for badminton particularly, is currently the sponsor of Lin Dan, Chinese super Dan, and has also signed partnership with Fujian’s Provincial badminton team.
Guangdong Experimental High School’s badminton team has reached splendid achievements with over 10 titles in world middle school badminton games since 1960s.
