Last Friday in Beijing the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) launched the Euro 2016 Chinese Official Website (www.uefa.cn) which will update simultaneously with the Euro 2016 Official Website. It is the first time for the European Football Championship(Euro) to have a Chinese official website.
According to earlier news there will be more Chinese elements to Euro 2016 including the first Chinese sponsor Hisense Group. The opening of official Weibo, Wechat and website provides Chinese football fans with more opportunities to get to know about Euro 2016 and the host country France.
Chinese football fans have shown a great interest in Euro 2016. Against this background, UEFA are determined to make a long-term plan. ”With World Cup European Qualifying Standings near, UEFA will continue to increase the influence of European football among Chinese football fans.” stated a UEFA official.
Euro 2016 will see France host the event for the third time which is historically unprecedented among European countries.
