Ali Sports, the sports arm of Chinese commercial giants Alibaba Group, has appointed Han Lifeng a Vice President. He will also become Managing Director of its venue management department, according to a source close to the company.
As an expert in venue operation, Mr. Han formerly spent 8 years as the director of Beijing Wukesong Stadium, previously the MasterCard Center, which now has a title sponsorship deal with Le Sports.
Prior to his period at Wukesong, Han had a short spell at AEG China around the time of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games. The 39 years old was also previously employed at the China Sports Industry Group and a Beijing State-owned Property Company where he gained a lot of experience in venue operation and management.
The source told Yutang Sports that Han Lifeng will take up his new position at Ali Sports this week.
Ali Sports has struck a variety of sports deals since it was founded by Alibaba Group last September.
