China’s largest commerce retailer, Suning, has expanded its cooperation with Nubia, the upmarket brand of ZTE Corp, following the former’s acquisition of a 33.33 percent stake in the ZTE subsidiary in last December.
Sunning’s football asset, Jiangsu Suning Football Club, announced today that Nubia will provide a capital injection of RMB150 million to become the main sponsor of the club for 2016.
Under the deal, Nubia will be awarded the rights to show its brand logo on the playing jersey of the Chinese Super League club during all CSL matches.
Meanwhile, the two sides have agreed to work together on a wide area ranging from football development, brand promotion to new product launch and other marketing activities.
According to Ni Fei, Senior VP of Nubia, the two sides have agreed a global strategic partnership at the beginning of this year. Built on the sponsorship, Nubia and PPTV, an online subsidiary of Suning, will work together to launch a special edition of smartphone targeted on football fans and a Nubia football training camp.
