Recently, the famous Italian football team, Inter Milan, announced a team-up with Le Sports, the sports unit of leading Chinese online streaming company, LeEco. One day later, AC Milan, the other Serie A club from that city, also announced a partnership with the same Chinese company, according to news from Xinhua.
The two sides have reached a three-year strategic partnership on content, licensed merchandise, club promotion and exclusive interviews.
As part of the deal, Le Sports will bring AC Milan’s official TV channel to mainland China for the first time.
As the official partner and digital media partner of AC Milan in China, Le Sports will also play an important role in the club’s future promotion and business development in the Asian country.
Over recent weeks, other major clubs like Manchester United, AS Roma and Bayern Munich have targeted Asia in order to increase their brand awareness by partnering up with various well-known Asian companies to gain more fans in this part of the world. Earlier in January, Manchester United FC signed a major deal with Chinese online sports platform Sina Sports to broadcast the club’s 24/7 TV channel MUTV in China.
