Costa Cruise Lines and Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) side Jiangsu Dragons Basketball Club announced a new partnership at a joint press conference held in Nanjing, China last Friday (January 15).
Under the partnership, the two sides will give away 22 free cruises to Jiangsu Dragons’ fans at 19 home games and through online activities. Additionally, players of Jiangsu Dragon will take part in a basketball-themed carnival with supporters on Costa Fortuna, the latest ship that Costa Cruise will deploy to China and Asia on April 22.
“Basketball is one of the most popular sports in the world, and each of our ships has an exclusive basketball court on it as we know there must be basketball fans on board,” said He Bin, marketing director at Costa Asia.
“The partnership with Jiangsu Dragon at this time is inspired by the players’ spirit of continuous self-challenge and passion for sport, which, as positive energy, is the key to expose our brand value and create brand experience.”
Costa Fortuna will be the fourth ship that Costa Cruise deploys to China and Asia. It will start off from Shanghai on a 6-day return journey. This will begin on April 22 and the ship will visit the likes of Cheju, Fukuoka and Kagoshima.
