Chinese Super League side Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC is set to open a youth training base in Nanchong, Sichuan Province in March to help develop the sport in South West China, according to some local reports.
The base will be unveiled at the South West Chinese city under a partnership between Shanghai Greenland Shenhua and an unnamed local sports company.
With the agreements, Greenland Shenhua will foster 20 to 30 professional coaches to grow the youth training basis in Nanchong. In addition to it, youth players from Nanchong training base will have a chance to be promoted to the CSL side’s academy teams.
According to an official at local education bureau, the training base will be officially unveiled in March, when local young players will take part in qualification trials in front of staff members of Shanghai Greenland Shenhua FC.
Additionally, the mentioned sports company is planning to enlarge the base by building an 11-a-side pitch and a 9-a-side pitch.
