Following the completion of week 10 of the Chinese Super League (CSL) on May 21, Guangzhou Evergrande FC emerged as the CSL’s bonus money rankings leader with bonuses totaling 25m RMB ($3.63m) followed closely by Hebei China Fortune FC with 24.5m RMB ($3.56m).
This season, Evergrande will earn 2m RMB ($291k) for each game they win, with a bonus of 1m RMB ($145.5k) for each game won by a single goal. A loss will see them penalized 2 million RMB while there is no reward if the game ends in a draw. Looking at Evergrande’s performance in the first 10 rounds of the CSL - 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 defeat - they received a total of 25m RMB in bonuses from the club owners.
For Hebei China Fortune’s bonus system this season, they will receive a 3-million ($437k) bonus for each win and a 1.5-million ($218k) bonus for each draw. If they can keep a clean sheet, the team will receive another 500,000 RMB ($72.7k). To date, China Fortune have earned 24.5m RMB and are ranked 2nd out of the 16 clubs in the CSL.

12. Jiangsu Suning FC (6m RMB, $873k)
