The General Motor brand Chevrolet held a ceremony on Friday to officially hand over a football pitch they had constructed for a primary school in China’s southwestern Yunnan Province. Retired football palyer Dwight Yorke attended the ceremony.
The campus football pitch belongs to a Chevrolet school project named Chevrolet Red Salk Rural Education Plan (literally translated). The project was created ten years ago, and is used to help with rural elementary school education. The football pitch is the first pitch built under the project.
During the ceremony, Dwight played with students of that school on the new football pitch.
The school is located in Shuanglang village, Dali, Yunnan, and has an altitude of 2,600 meters and inconvenient transportation to the outside world.
Sohu report said that the car brand would also cooperate with international sports and fitness education organization to provide customized sports training to students there.
