Letv, a revolutionary Chinese internet and technology company, is expanding its reach to the Indian market with a plan to build a full-scale sports ecosystem in the country.
In an effort to provide a one-stop service for sports fans with its multi-dimensional business layout, Le Sports has built up one of the world’s largest event rights portfolios with rights to more than 200 blue-ribbon events including Champions League, Formula One, Serie A, Tour de France, Wimbledon and the European Football Championship, 70% of which are exclusive. More recently, the company has announced its acquisition of the exclusive broadcasting rights to the Premier League in Hong Kong.
In seeking to reinforce the Sports Ecosystem, Letv is committed to introducing top sporting events, conducting independent R&D as well as reforming sports broadcasting norms. In July of this year, the company took on the International Champions Cup (ICC) and successfully managed the tournament.
At the same time, the company is focusing on strengthening the development of its internet app services. It is building an industry-leading vertical sport e-commerce platform covering ticket sales, sports lotteries and sports games apps. The company is also sparing no effort in bringing to its audience state-of-the-art sports devices such as the internet-based Super Bike last August.
