Huawei signed a strategic partnership with organizers of the Rush Community Basketball Tournament, Gametime Entertainment, and will act as a sponsor of the ten-week flagship tournament in Ghana.
Games take place every Sunday at the Accra Polytechnic Basketball Court with the finals scheduled on Sunday December 20, 2015.
The tournament, which engages close to 1000 people in the Basketball fraternity each week, welcomed Huawei on board on November 22. As part of the sponsorship deal, players and attendees were given the opportunity to experience flagship Huawei devices like the Huawei G8, P8, Media pad and Y Series range of phones.
“Huawei believes in the development of sports as well as investing in youth and that is our reason for sponsoring this tournament,” Robin Sun, Country Manager for Device Business at Huawei Technologies Ghana said. “The Rush Community Basketball Tournament is a perfect opportunity for us to support lesser known sports while also contributing to the development of our youth in Ghana.”
Founder of Gametime Entertainment, Lewis Fadipe said, “It’s great to have a global brand like Huawei on board to support our venture. Huawei’s partnership with the Rush Community Basketball Tournament means further inspiration for the players to excel, seeing that the MVP gets a sleek Huawei P8 device. We look forward to a fruitful partnership.”
