A Women’s Basketball Club has struck a two-year title sponsorship deal with a Beijing-founded provider of mobile instant games. Wednesday’s deal is with Shouyoucai, which is reportedly affiliated to China LotSynergy Holdings Limited.
A Women’s Basketball Club has struck a two-year title sponsorship deal with a Beijing-founded provider of mobile instant games. Wednesday’s deal is with Shouyoucai, which is reportedly affiliated to China LotSynergy Holdings Limited.
The agreement will see Shouyoucai become the title sponsor of Jiangsu Wutaishan whose name will change to Jiangsu Shouyoucai. The club are the current holders of the 2015 National Women’s Basketball Championship and were third in the WCBA league last year. According to China’s leading news agency Xinhua the deal will last until the end of the 2016/2017 season. However, the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Yang Guoqing, deputy director of Jiangsu Sports Bureau, has high expectations for the partnership, hoping that the club can implement institutional reforms and innovations to embrace the market and move from the government-oriented system. This would help introduce more capital from corporations into the club and also contribute to the development of professional sports in the Eastern Chinese province.
