The NBA side Sacramento Kings will be hosted by its Chinese partner Solar Power (SPI), a vertically integrated photovoltaic (PV) developer, on November 17 to 21 in Shanghai and Beijing, according to a news report from CCN Money.
The tour will include community events and appearances in Beijing and Shanghai for SPI’s online energy e-commerce and investment platform, Solarbao.com.
Earlier in March, the two sides announced a 10-year strategic partnership. Under the deal, SPI would serve as an official energy partner for Kings’ Entertainment and Sports Center (ESC) and install a sustainable PV solar system on the ESC’s roof.
"The Sacramento Kings connects SPI to the NBA's huge Chinese and worldwide fan base," said Xiaofeng Peng, Chairman of SPI. "Together we have a shared commitment to promoting a healthy lifestyle through sports and a greener future through solar energy."
"The Sacramento Kings are committed to environmental sustainability because it's the socially responsible and fiscally prudent path to take," said Sacramento Kings President Chris Granger. "The Kings are proud that 100 percent of Golden 1 Center's electricity will be generated from solar power. Working with partners like SPI Solar, our efforts will serve as a global model for sustainable innovation."
