Chinese leading portal site Tencent have live covered ROSNEFT WTCC Race of China which was held in Shanghai from 25-27 September.
Tencent has been delivering a series of selected rounds of the 2015 FIA World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) but the deal with Tencent to present the 2015 WTCC China online was the first of its kind for the WTCC, according to FIA WTCC’s official webstie.
FIA WTCC added that the agreement “will not only increase awareness of the championship in China, which has the world’s highest population at more than 1.3 billion people”, but also “showcase the activities of the WTCC’s participating manufacturers and partners in an extremely important marketplace”.
Tencent Inc, the Shenzhen-based IT company, has significantly enhanced its presences in sports sector especially with the eye-catching US$500m 5-year deal for the rights to cover the NBA within mainland China earlier this year.
