The Chancellor of UK announced on Wednesday to boost a Chinese grassroots soccer project which covers thousands of young people with a £3 million funding.
In a visit to Soong Chingling Soccer School in Urumqi, China, George Osborne announced the funding to support the training programs among over 5,000 new coaches.
The scheme is seen as the extension of Premier Skills football coaching programme which was launched by UK Council and Premiere League.
'This fantastic scheme which will bring new opportunities to young people across China”, said Osborne.
'The deal we've been able to do here is just one example of the ways we can work together with China to benefit both our nations - and I look forward to seeing the results.'
The deal instantly follows the agreement between the British and Chinese governments at the UK-China Football Development Forum a week ago.
