PEAK Sport, a leading Chinese sports apparel and equipment brand has signed NBA star Dwight Howard on a multi-year deal valued at between150-200 million RMB, according to reports.
PEAK Basketball also announced on Sina Weibo that the 8-time All-star centre had officially teamed up with the brand but no terms of the deal have been disclosed.
What we do know of the deal is that the Houston Rockets star will become an ambassador for PEAK sneakers, after the RMB100m-plus offer was made by PEAK Sport plus stock options and revenues distribution, making it worth around 150 million to 200 million RMB in total.
The new partnership with PEAK Sport marks the end of Howard’s association with German giants Adidas, after his contract reportedly expired at the end of August.
The signing of Dwight Howard confirms the biggest endorsement deal that PEAK Sport has ever inked with a sports star.
The Fujian-based sports goods brand is particularly dedicated to basketball and has signed some of the big names in the NBA, including the likes of Tony Parker and Carl Landry.
