On July, a news conference called “Zero Distance to Tour de France” was held in Beijing. The conference announced that China’s well-known actor Eddie Peng would become the goodwill ambassador of Tour de France.
Tour de France is one of the most popular road cycling annual tournaments which has a long history of 102 years. When Eddie Peng got the chance to become the tournament’s ambassador, he was filled with excitement. Peng claimed that the Chinese movie To the Fore made him fall in love with bicycle, and he hoped to let more and more people know about cycling through his efforts.
When it comes to the reason why Peng was selected as the goodwill ambassador of the tournament, a representative of the conference said that Peng was an excellent actor who could show an energetic and healthy image to the public. At the meantime, Peng was a true lover of cycling. The representative believed that Peng was the most marketable for the top-level international cycling tournament.
