As part of its brand strategy, Samsung has attached close attention to sports marketing. In a deal announced by Samsung recently, the Korean electronics giant will serve as the official premium partner of International Champions Cup China. It is the second football event in China sponsored by Samsung, following its partnership with Chinese Super League.
A spokesman from Samsung said that the partnership is a win-win method for both parties. The top football event will help Samsung to convey its corporate culture and philosophy to consumers through the broader influence of the event.
As the most influential pre-season event, ICC has been played in the United States and Canada in the last two years. The 2015 Cup, for the first time, will bring UEFA’s best soccer clubs to compete in parallel tournaments across North America, Australia and China this summer. The 2015 Cup will see Real Madrid, AC Milan and Inter Milan compete in Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Shanghai.
