The opening ceremony of the 2015 China Tour of Peak Players and the Peak 3x3 Basketball Match was held yesterday evening, with the presence of NBA stars Tony Parker and Carl Landry.
This is the 10th year of the tour. The content and format of the event have evolved over the years from simple displays of products by stars to non-profit basketball promotions.
A highlight of this year’s event is the 3x3 basketball match. Games will be played in four cities in China, i.e. Xiangyang, Beijing, Wenzhou, and Nanchang, and would be played in more cities in following years. Winners of each city would compete for a final champion in August in Beijing.
The stars of this event will separately go to different Chinese cities in the following months, to help promote the event and to bring NBA basketball culture there.
Peak has been active in partnering with NBA stars. The stars it has worked with include George Hill, Chase Budinger, Carl Landry, Miles Plumlee, Beno Udrih, Andrew Nicholson and others. It was said recently that it planned to work with Dwight Howard.
