The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club announced a multiple-year extension to their Official Timepiece agreement with Rolex. The partnership agreement, first signed in 2007, includes title sponsorship of the premier Asian blue-water classic, China Sea Race, as well as Official Timepiece of the Club.
Mark Bovaird, General Manager, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club, said, “We are extremely proud to continue our partnership with Rolex and are very thankful for their continued support of the Club and its sailing events. The Rolex name is synonymous with the world’s best offshore races that excite and challenge sailors around the globe. The China Sea Race is regarded as the premier Asian blue water classic and its recognition as the ‘Best Asian Regatta of the Year’ at the recent Asia Boating Awards is testament to that fact. Having Rolex as the Club’s Official Timepiece and sponsor of the China Race reinforces a partnership that has proved to be an extremely positive one for the development of Sailing in the Asian region and one that will only go from strength to strength in the coming years.”
Anthony Day, Rear Commodore – Sailing, Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club added, “RHKYC and Rolex each share an enduring commitment to excellence in offshore yacht racing. This strengthening of our association will only help us to further develop and promote increasingly challenging racing in the future.'
