Tencent held a news conference about its newly acquired NBA resources in Guangzhou. This is the third conference Tencent held after two conferences held in Beijing and Shanghai respectively.
Tencent explained plans of broadcasts of NBA games, content management, product innovations, and commercial prospects.
At the conference, Tencent also agreed a marketing cooperation with ZTE. The two sides signed a cooperation agreement. ZTE said it plans to spend no less than 40 million yuan for the cooperation with Tencent regarding its NBA resources.
Tencent has acquired many NBA resources, including the rights to live broadcast more than 1,500 games in the next season. Tencent will also manage the official Chinese website of NBA and those of the 30 teams, build the only exclusive Chinese online communities and 100 online communities for 100 players.
They will also provide sufficient marketing opportunities for companies interested in the NBA project.
