SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

As reported by News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Mr Luo Jun, deputy director of Guangdong Foreign Affairs Office, China, announced the governmental plan to bring in young Nigerian sports talents.
Luo told NAN that the government of Guangdong would encourage local sports clubs to employee young sportsmen and sportswomen from Nigeria.
Luo said that those young talented Nigerians would be participating in a range of sports including field and track events, basketball, swimming, football, gymnastics and other sports.
He continued, “we strongly believe that promoting sporting activities in our province will need young talents.”
“We have been hiring soccer players from other African countries. But we now want to introduce young Nigerian talents to Guangdong to enhance the performances of our sports clubs locally and internationally”, he said.
He also noted that those young players would act as the international ambassadors of Guangdong’s sports.
The deputy director said that the government of Guangdong would continue to give priority to sports development.
