The Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) has agreed a two-year sponsorship deal with Swiss watchmaker Taker TAG Heuer in a press release held at Beijing Olympic Park on Wednesday.
Under the agreements, the Swiss brand becomes the official timekeeper and watch partner of Chinese top tier basketball league until the end of 2016/2017 season.
In addition, TAG Heuer also plans to launch an edition of CBA-themed watch next year.
As well as the to-be-launched customized watch, the Swiss brand will also help develop Chinese basketball with a youth training program which helps build basketball courts, provide training equipment and hold youth training camps in China's remote rural areas.
"The cooperation with the CBA will bring our brand to a broader platform to connect with young people closer than before. We also plan to support the game's grassroots development and inspire more passion for the game among youngsters," said Leo Poon, the directing manager of TAG Heuer Greater China.
The 2015/2016 Regular Season of the CBA will kick off on Oct. 31.
