SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

On 23 October, the Badminton World Federation released the latest world badminton ranking for men’s singles and women’s singles. Chinese players and Asian players take most of the positions.
CHEN Long is the highest-ranked Chinese male athlete, No. 2 in the world. Three Chinese female athletes take the top three positions. They are LI Xuerui, WANG Shixian, and WANG Yihan.
The world No.1 male athlete LEE Chong Wei, was recently found out to have used drugs.
Among the world top 10 players of both female and male athletes, most of them are Asian players, such as Chinese, Japanese, and South Korean. There are three European players, consisting of two male players from Denmark and one female Spanish player.
