On March 27, Manchester United announced that they will travel to China again this summer to play Spurs in a pre-season glamour friendly at the Shanghai Hongkou Football Stadium.
This will be Manchester United’s fourth visit to China since its first visit to Shanghai in 1999. The last time they came to Shanghai was for the pre-season match in the 2016 summer International Champions Cup match against Borussia Dortmund.
According to the official schedule of 2019, they will play Inter Milan in Singapore on July 20 besides two matches in Australia, against Perth Glory on July 13 and Leeds United on July 17, both being held in Perth.
"This will be our fourth visit to Shanghai. We are looking forward to returning to the city and play against Spurs.”
“These matches and the tour together will not only assist in our pre-season preparations but also provide opportunities for us to interact with our fans in China and all the world," said Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
