The Chinese automobile company SWM Motors have title sponsored the 2019 Chinese Football Association Member Association Champions League (CMCL). The signing ceremony was held in Chongqing on February 16.
For the next eight months in the 2019 season, CMCL will bear the name of SWM Motors and present SWM Motors elements in its competitions.
CMCL is the fourth tier of the football league in China, after the Chinese Super League, the Chinese Football Association League and the Chinese Football Association Division Two League. It is the official amateur football league that connects grassroots football with professional football in China.
The reason that SWM Motors sponsor CMCL is to leverage the league’s wide-spread influence among the grassroots football in China, whilst developing the brand’s public image and influence amongst its potential customers.
The private company SWM Motors also title sponsor a Chinese Super League club, the SWM Motors Football club which is located in Chongqing. The partnership was signed in 2018. By partnering with CMCL, SWM Motors hope to increase their influence across China among more ordinary people.
The company mainly produces passenger vehicles in their factory in Chongqing and design center in Italy.
