SPORTACCORD 2024 INSIGHTS: Sport’s Perfect Storm

The Spanish football league signed a MOU with the Kunming Municipal Government and the China Sports Futurity Development (CSFI) to establish a long-term strategic partnership centred on two projects: "Kunming International Sports Health Valley" and "LaLiga International Football Academy of Kunming".
Dec. 5, 2018.- LaLiga has reiterated its commitment to the grassroots development of Chinese football by signing in Anning, Kunming (China), a MOU with local authorities and the CSFI to work together on a number of projects in the years to come.
Apart from the Kunming International Sports Health Valley and LaLiga International Academy of Kunming projects, LaLiga will provide support and advice about football match organization, coach and football player training in order to help build a youth training system and high level coaching teams in the capital of Yunnan province.
"The MOU we have signed here today represents an additional step in LaLiga's commitment with the development of Chinese football. Kunming is a city with a huge potential in terms of its football growth and we want to collaborate with our experience to help them to reach their goals", Sergi Torrents, LaLiga's Country Manager for China, said.
In addition to this, LaLiga will introduce other initiatives such as LaLiga Legends matches and youth tournaments in the city as well as inviting clubs from LaLiga to play friendly matches in China. Last but not least, youth teams which perform at a high level will be able to attend football tournaments and campuses held by LaLiga in Spain.
In parallel, LaLiga representatives held a meeting with Kunming Municipal Government and members of the National Sports Bureau to discuss the future of their cooperation in Kunming, among them Li Yingchuan, Vice-Director General of the National Sports Bureau, Cheng Linyuan, member of Standing Committee of Yunnan Provincial CPC committee, Lama Xinggao, Chairman of Standing Committee of Kunming Municipal People's Congress, Wang Xun, Party Secretary of Anning CPC Committee, Carlos Tortola, Economic and Commercial Counsellor in Consulate General of Spain in Guangzhou and Wang Jianguang, chairman of CSFI.
