The English Premier League is going to launch an official Chinese language app “英超联赛” (Premier League) specially designed for its Chinese fans. From November 9, fans will be able to download the app from various app stores.
The news was announced yesterday (November 7) at the China International Import Expo in Shanghai and also via the league’s social media channels in China, such as its official WeChat account and Sina Weibo account.
The official Chinese app will deliver the latest news and match results, the full list of broadcasting media and current and historical data around the league and the players.
The Premier League has previously organized various fan engagement activities in China, in collaboration with its media broadcasters and Premier League clubs. The Managing Director at the Premier League, Richard Masters, says that this new official Chinese app will become a home, gathering Chinese fans of the Premier League through richer and better offering of Chinese content.
