The Bundesliga club Bayern Munich FC has reached an agreement with Taiyuan, the capital city of Shanxi Province, to set up a football school in the city. The news was jointly announced by Bayern Munich and representatives from Shanxi provincial government on September 6 in the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.
It will be the third football school that Bayern Munich has established in China after Qingdao and Shenzhen football schools.
The club says this new football school will be one more standing point of the club in China and can expand their activities in the Chinese market. They will not only bring Bayern Munich’s talent growth ideas to Shanxi, but will also promote Bayern’s brand and value in Shanxi.
Representatives of the Shanxi government said that the football school in Taiyuan would be one of the realizations of the partnerships between China and Germany around football and they believe that Bayern Munich FC would contribute to the development of football in Shanxi Province.
At the beginning of August, Bayern Munich’s China office had visited Shanxi, exploring the land that would be used for building the school along with leaders of the Shanxi Football Association and other organizations.
Taiyuan is a well-known provincial capital city in the northern part of China in Shanxi which is one of the traditionally important provinces in China.
