Chinese beverage brand, JDB, has just signed up to be the sponsor of the 2018 World Cup live broadcasts by the Guangdong Sports TV channel GRT Sports. The signing ceremony was held at the Guangdong Radio and Television (GRT) headquarters with JDB reaching a strategic collaboration with GRT Sports.
During the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, the GRT Sports TV channel will live broadcast all games with Cantonese language commentary. This unique Cantonese language commentary is an exclusive feature of the broadcast and is very popular among audiences in the south of China.
GRT Sports is the main sports TV channel in the south of China and across the country. The sponsorship of this major TV channel’s broadcasts, signals JDB’s plan to consolidate its market presence in the south of China, especially the Guangdong market. It is also a step back to the traditional media advertising area. The brand also hopes to increase sales of its herbal tea beverage in the competitive summer beverage market.
JDB is a beverage manufacturer headquartered in Hong Kong. It was established in 1995 and opened its first manufacturing plant in Dongguan, Guangdong Province in 1998. Since then, they have opened factories across China to meet sales in China and overseas. Its main product is a herbal tea drink called Wanglaoji and the bottled water brand, Kunlun Mountain Mineral Water.
