At a signing ceremony held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the Chinese energy drink brand Eastroc Super Drink announced their partnership with current European Champions Portugal, becoming the team’s Official Energy Drink.
Jiang Weiwei, Deputy General Manager of Eastroc Super Drink Group, stated at the signing ceremony “that joining forces with such an outstanding team is the best choice for the company to combine its brand image with sports, as well as reaching young people and becoming a global brand.”
Former Portugal football star Luis Figo was also in attendance at the ceremony as a guest. He expressed his thoughts on this new partnership and his expectations on Portugal’s performance in the upcoming FIFA World Cup in Russia as well.
In fact, it is the second football-related sponsorship deal announced by Eastroc Super Drink this month.
At a press conference held on March 1, Eastroc Super Drink announced that they had been appointed as the Official Supplier of the 2018/2019 Chinese Super League (CSL).
Based on this new sponsorship deal, Eastroc Super Drink launched a philanthropic project with Eastroc Super Drink donating RMB 10k to a foundation for each goal scored by a Chinese U23 player in the CSL. The foundation was set up by Guangzhou Evergrande star Feng Xiaoting to develop youth football in China.
Additionally, Eastroc Super Drink has also become one of the Sponsors of CCTV broadcasts for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
Founded in 1987, Eastroc Super Drink is an energy drink originating and conceived in China, making it one of China's best-selling local energy drink brands. It has the third largest market share in China after Red Bull and Hi-Tiger.
